It may be a drag all the paperwork and legal drudgery, but HIPAA is nothing more than a framework to protect the patient. Patient's have rights when it comes to your information. You have the right to continuity of care; you have the right to access your information in a timely manner; you have the right to make sure that information is correct; and you have the right to keep sensitive and confidential information private.
Your information is our responsibility, and over the last few years we have been migrating your information into newer systems that better serve our clients and friends. As technology is ever changing so is the technology that we use to serve. As we migrate patient data into our new systems we will be verifying information to make sure our records are up to date. We will never call you to ask for information unless we are currently serving you with eyewear orders or have upcoming appointments. For your security and for the best service we do require patients to call into the office to conduct business regarding appointments or your health information.
